Montréal International Triathlon

The 3rd best in the world is added to the list of competitors at the ITU World Cup in Montreal

(Montréal, Québec) Wednesday, July 13, 2016 – The Montréal International Triathlon is proud to announce the addition of Flora Duffy (BER) to the list of elite athletes registered to compete in the Montreal ITU World Cup on August 7th

Ranked third on the ITU world rankings, she climbed the podium 3 times this season at WTS races, in addition to finishing 4th twice. She took part in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games and she should definitely set an explosive pace in the women’s race.

Another great addition to the list is Canada’s Kirsten Sweetland, who was successful in qualifying for Rio. At 27 years old, she has been on the Canadian team for the past 10 years. Some highlights of her career include a Junior World Championship title (2006), a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games (2014) and a 12th place at the Huatulco ITU World Cup this season.

The preliminary list of athletes registered for the Montreal ITU World Cup was unveiled last Thursday. It includes many headliners and close to 20 Canadian athletes. Please see the July 6th press release for more information on the men’s and women’s stages held in Montreal on August 7th.

You can see the participants list on the ITU website. It is possible that other athletes will be added up to August 1st.

MEDIA ACCREDITATION
