Yohann Benson couronné champion de la PGA du Québec au Club de golf Grand-Mère

Grand-Mère, le 26 août 2026 — Yohann Benson a, pour une troisième fois, inscrit son nom au palmarès du Championnat de la PGA du Québec, présenté par Vidéotron Affaires, en remportant l’événement disputée au Club de golf Grand-Mère les 25 et 26 août. Avec deux rondes identiques de 66, Benson a conclu le championnat avec un pointage cumulatif de -8, devançant Brandon Lacasse par deux coups.

Disputé sur deux rondes de 18 trous, le Championnat de la PGA du Québec réunissait les meilleurs professionnels de la province dans différentes divisions. Pour cette troisième présentation consécutive au Club de golf Grand-Mère, les participants ont une fois de plus pu profiter d’un parcours en excellente condition.

Yohann Benson s’impose avec constance

Yohann Benson a été particulièrement solide au cours des deux journées de compétition. Après avoir remis une première carte de 66 (-4), il a répété l’exploit lors de la ronde finale, également avec un pointage de 66, pour terminer à -8.

Sa deuxième ronde lui a notamment permis de signer la meilleure performance de la journée finale et de confirmer sa victoire au championnat.

« C’est toujours spécial de remporter le Championnat de la PGA du Québec. C’est une compétition importante pour les membres et je suis très heureux d’avoir pu jouer deux bonnes rondes et de terminer au sommet », a déclaré Benson après sa victoire.

Brandon Lacasse a offert une excellente performance pour terminer au deuxième rang avec un cumulatif de -6. Lacasse a connu tout un départ avec une spectaculaire ronde de 63 (-7) lors de la première journée, soit la meilleure ronde du championnat sur 18 trous. Une deuxième carte de 71 lui a ensuite permis de conserver la deuxième position.

La troisième marche du podium a été occupée par Chris Vandette, Alexis Clément et Billy Houle, qui ont tous terminé avec le même pointage cumulatif.

Martin Plante l’emporte en prolongation chez les seniors

La compétition a été particulièrement serrée dans la division senior, alors qu’une triple égalité en tête s’est soldée par une prolongation.

Les trois joueurs de tête avaient complété les 36 trous avec un pointage cumulatif de +5, forçant la tenue d’un trou supplémentaire afin de déterminer le champion.

C’est finalement Martin Plante qui a réussi à s’imposer. Plante a inscrit un birdie sur le premier trou de prolongation pour mettre la main sur le titre de champion senior.

Cette conclusion dramatique est venue couronner une compétition relevée chez les joueurs seniors, qui ont offert une lutte serrée jusqu’à la toute fin.

Billy Houle champion de la division des professionnels en titre

Dans la division des professionnels en titre, c’est Billy Houle qui a remporté les grands honneurs avec un pointage cumulatif de -4.

Houle a remis des cartes de 66 et 77 au cours des deux rondes pour s’emparer du titre. Il ajoute ainsi une nouvelle distinction à son palmarès au sein de la PGA du Québec.

Déjà parmi les joueurs les plus décorés du circuit québécois, Houle a une fois de plus démontré sa constance et son expérience lors d’un championnat disputé dans des conditions exigeantes.

Lory Paradis championne chez les femmes

Du côté de la division féminine, Lory Paradis a décroché le titre avec un pointage cumulatif de +2.

Paradis a connu une progression remarquable entre les deux journées de compétition. Après une première ronde de 74, elle a remis une excellente carte de 68 (-2) lors de la ronde finale pour conclure le championnat au sommet de sa division.

Sa performance lors de la deuxième journée lui a permis de terminer la compétition sur une excellente note et de repartir avec le titre de championne féminine de la PGA du Québec.

Yohann Benson Crowned PGA of Québec Champion at the Grand-Mère Golf Club

Grand-Mère, August 26, 2026 — Yohann Benson added his name for the third time to the list of winners of the PGA of Québec Championship, presented by Vidéotron Affaires, by winning the event held at the Grand-Mère Golf Club on August 25 and 26. With two identical rounds of 66, Benson finished the championship with a cumulative score of 8 under par, two strokes ahead of Brandon Lacasse.

Held over two 18-hole rounds, the PGA of Québec Championship brought together the province’s top professionals in various divisions. For this third consecutive year at the Grand-Mère Golf Club, participants were once again able to enjoy a course in excellent condition.

Yohann Benson Wins with Consistency

Yohann Benson was particularly solid throughout the two days of competition. After carding a 66 (-4) in the first round, he repeated the feat in the final round, also with a score of 66, to finish at -8.

His second round allowed him to post the best score of the final day and secure his victory in the championship.

“It’s always special to win the PGA of Québec Championship. It’s an important tournament for the members, and I’m very happy to have played two good rounds and finished at the top,” Benson said after his victory.

Brandon Lacasse delivered an excellent performance to finish in second place with a total of -6. Lacasse got off to a great start with a spectacular round of 63 (-7) on the first day—the best 18-hole round of the championship. A second-round score of 71 then allowed him to hold onto second place.

The third spot on the podium was shared by Chris Vandette, Alexis Clément, and Billy Houle, who all finished with the same total score.

Martin Plante Wins in a Playoff in the Seniors Division

The competition was particularly close in the senior division, where a three-way tie for the lead resulted in a playoff.

The three leading players had completed the 36 holes with a cumulative score of +5, forcing an extra hole to determine the champion.

In the end, it was Martin Plante who emerged victorious. Plante made a birdie on the first hole of the playoff to claim the senior championship title.

This dramatic conclusion capped off a highly competitive tournament among the senior players, who battled it out until the very end.

Billy Houle, Defending Champion of the Head Professional Division

In the head professionals’ division, Billy Houle took top honors with a cumulative score of -4.

Houle carded rounds of 66 and 77 over the two rounds to claim the title, adding yet another achievement to his record with the PGA of Québec.

Already one of the most decorated players on the PGA of Québec tour, Houle once again demonstrated his consistency and experience during a championship played under challenging conditions.

Lory Paradis Wins Women’s Title

In the women’s division, Lory Paradis claimed the title with a cumulative score of +2.

Paradis showed remarkable improvement over the two days of competition. After a first round of 74, she carded an excellent 68 (-2) in the final round to finish the championship at the top of her division.

Her performance on the second day allowed her to finish the competition on a high note and walk away with the title of PGA of Québec Women’s Champion.
