Montréal, 6 juillet 2025 – Rowan Kerr (Forest City) avait déjà mis la main sur deux médailles d’or en autant d’épreuves aux Championnats nationaux juniors de développement, à Winnipeg, avant de participer à la compétition à la plateforme dans le groupe C, dimanche. L’Ontarien a complété son tour du chapeau en montant une fois de plus sur la plus haute marche du podium lors de cette finale.

Kerr a pris les commandes de la finale dès le tout début de la compétition, s’installant dans le siège du conducteur grâce à un premier plongeon qui lui a valu 40,80 points. Il est demeuré constant lors de ses trois passages suivants à la tour, mettant un point d’exclamation sur sa journée avec un dernier plongeon où il a reçu la note de 56,70 de la part des juges. Il a complété la finale avec une récolte de 422,50 points.

« C’est vraiment super de remporter trois médailles d’or ! C’est spécial à la plateforme parce que c’est mon épreuve préférée ! J’aime vraiment sauter de haut et je suis heureux de la façon dont j’ai travaillé tout au long de la compétition. J’ai réussi plusieurs beaux plongeons, c’est une belle façon de terminer ma saison », a partagé Rowan Kerr.

Mano Charron (Envol) et Owen Dansereau (Nepean Ottawa) ont complété le podium, récoltant respectivement 384 et 378,30 points.

Dans l’autre finale individuelle présentée dimanche, Maia Jane (iDive) a remporté les grands honneurs au tremplin de 1 m dans le groupe C. Il s’agit d’une troisième médaille pour la Britanno-Colombienne depuis le début des Championnats nationaux juniors de développement, elle qui s’était couverte d’argent à la plateforme et au tremplin de 3 m.

Jane a récolté 403,85 points, menant la finale d’un bout à l’autre, afin de goûter à sa première victoire de la fin de semaine.

« Je suis super contente d’avoir gagné une médaille d’or à ma dernière épreuve individuelle de la compétition. Je ne me suis pas sentie stressée et tous mes plongeons se sont bien passés. Je suis très fière de moi et de ma constance tout au long de la fin de semaine », a mentionné Maia Jane.

Sara-Jade Tessier (Camo), médaillée d’or la veille au 3 m, a terminé deuxième avec 386,35 points. Yolande Yiyao Xie (iDive) et Charlotte Moxley (TDA) sont toutes les deux montées sur la troisième marche du podium.

Au concours par équipe en fin de journée, les plongeurs de l’équipe CAMO rouge sont montés sur la plus haute marche du podium. Les clubs britanno-colombiens iDive, de Vancouver, & KGTC, de Kamloops, ont unis leurs efforts pour prendre le deuxième rang alors que Forest City a complété le podium.

A Hat Trick for Rowan Kerr

Montréal, July 6, 2025 – Before competing in the Group C platform event on Sunday, Rowan Kerr (Forest City) had already collected two gold medals in as many events at the Junior Development National Championships in Winnipeg.

The Ontarian completed his hat trick on Sunday afternoon, once again stepping to the top of the podium after taking a very early lead in the finals with a score of 40.80 on his first dive—a lead he was able to hold on to thanks to his consistent performance throughout the event. He capped off the competition with a final plunge worth 56.70 points, bringing his total to 422.50.

“Winning three gold medals is amazing! And it feels extra special to win one on the platform, because it’s my favourite event. I really love diving from high up. I’m happy with the work I put in throughout this entire competition. I did some really great dives. It’s a great way to end the season,” said Kerr.

In Sunday’s other individual final, Maia Jane (iDive) took top honours in the Group C 1m springboard event. It was the British Columbian’s third medal of the Junior Development National Championships. She won silver in both the platform and 3m springboard contests earlier this weekend.

Jane, who led the standings in today’s finals from start to finish, collected a total of 403.85 points to secure her first gold medal of the weekend.

“I’m so happy to have won a gold medal in my last individual event of the competition. I wasn’t stressed, and all my dives went well. I’m proud of myself and of how consistently I performed this weekend,” she said.

Sara-Jade Tessier (Camo), who won gold in yesterday’s 3m event, finished second with 386.35 points. Yolande Yiyao Xie (iDive) and Charlotte Moxley (TDA) shared the third step of the podium.

In the team competition at the end of the day, the red CAMO team captured top honours. British Columbian teams iDive (Vancouver) and KGTC (Kamloops) joined forces and placed second, while Forest City finished third.
