Montréal, le 24 novembre 2016 – Réunis mercredi soir (23 novembre) au Cabaret du Casino de Montréal à l’occasion du premier spectacle-bénéfice au profit de l’Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec), plus de 150 représentants de la communauté d’affaires ont permis d’amasser 180 000 $. Cette somme permettra à l’INS Québec de continuer à offrir à tous les athlètes olympiques et paralympiques de haut niveau et à leurs entraîneurs un encadrement et des services intégrés, comparables aux meilleures pratiques mondiales.

BUSINESS COMMUNITY RAISES $180,000 TO SUPPORT BOTH HIGH-PERFORMANCE AND NEXT GENERATION ATHLETES “The business community’s dedication in support of our work reflects the importance we place on Olympic and Paralympic athletes who proudly represent us on the world stage” Montreal, November 24, 2016 – On Wednesday evening (November 23), more than 150 representatives of the business community joined forces at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal for the inaugural benefit event which helped raise $180,000 in support of the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec). The money raised will allow INS Québec to continue to provide world-class support and integrated services to all high-performance Olympic and Paralympic athletes and their coaches. “INS Québec wants to help our athletes realize their dreams as quickly as possible. We are a Catalyst of dreams – One athlete at a time as stated in our mission,” explains Tom Quinn, Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors. “The business community’s dedication in support of our work reflects the importance we place on Olympic and Paralympic athletes who proudly represent us on the world stage, as well as athletes from the generation that will follow them in the years to come.” A significant number of Ambassadors, people in the business community and people who believe in INS Québec’s mission teamed up with its Chair, Tom Quinn, in support of the inaugural fundraising event. They include Mr. Pierre Boivin (Claridge), Mr. Claude Chagnon (Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence du Québec). Ms. Francine Champoux (STRATAIDE), Mr. Jean Fabi (Flex Group), Mr. Gerry Frappier (Bell Media), Mr. Marc Gélinas (McGill University), Mr. Paul André Goulet (Sports Experts), Mr. Daniel Granger (ACJ Communication), Mr. JD Miller (B2Dix), Mr. Chris Overholt (Canadian Olympic Committee), Mr. Gaëtan Robitaille (INS Québec), Mr. Frank Sullivan (Cisco), Mr. Jean-Stéphane Tremblay (FGL Sports). INS Québec provides sports medicine, sports science, and overall wellness services to some 500 Olympic and Paralympic athletes in Quebec. The organization also provides training to the 900 high-performance coaches and medical and scientific personnel who work primarily with the Canadian teams. Furthermore, through its network of eight regional multi-sport training centres, INS Québec can serve the 2,200 athletes and coaches of the next generation. In addition to its state-of-the-art Complex located in the heart of Olympic Park, the INS Québec network also includes 13 single-sport training centres.
